Silva vs Liddell UFC 76

Date Added: February 13, 2008 10:14:01 PM
Author: Brian Robertson

UFCJunkie.com has reported that a verbal agreement has been made for a  bout featuring former UFC Light-heavyweight Champ Chuck “The Iceman” Liddell squaring off against former Pride Middle-weight Champ Wanderlei “The Axe Murderer” Silva at UFC 76.

This is a dream fight in the making for years that the fans will finally see. Long considered a fantasy match-up of the top 2 fighters in their respective promotions for years and will settle years of internet forum debates.

It is unfortunate however, for both fighters and fans, that the dream finally becomes a reality after both have lost their titles. The titles not being on the line still doesn’t diminish the anticipation of MMA fans to see these two go at it.

There is no doubt in anyone’s mind that this fight possesses Fight of the Year qualities. Both Silva and Liddell are tremendous strikers and are sure to wage all out war until only one of them is left standing. We can only hope that this fight doesn’t break doubt like the previous announcement, and we finally get to see two of the best 205lb fighters of this generation settle the debate of who is the better between them once and for all.
