Been away a few days hiding in a cave being angry about the outcome of the Guida/Huerta fight. Huerta did not look impressive against the likes of Clay Guida, and I fully expected Clay to take it to him for another round and gain a unanimous decision.
I will atleast commend Huerta for sticking to the fight and gutting it out after pretty much being mauled for 2 rounds. In this case I dont think the better fighter came out the victor.
I hope I am not alone in being completely psyched up to see the Pulver/Swanson match on versus. I have never been much of a Pulver fan, but I have seen Swanson fight live in what was only his 7th pro fight and I was highly impressed. He is comfortable taking the fight anywhere and should give Jens all he can handle and more. I pick Swanson via submission in round 2.
- As everyone expected Dana White announced this weekend that Forrest Griffin and Rampage would be coaching TUF 7. According to white this is to be the best season yet and with these two as coaches it shouldnt be hard. They dont even have to change the format, just show a half hour of these knuckleheads and that will be enough to produce a comedy show with.
- Our buddy Fightlinker takes offense the the Rio Heroes ads everywhere. He also lives up to his end of the bargain on a bet with Kid Nate of Bloody Elbow.
- The most respected and possible greatest ref to ever grace the octagon retired after Saturday’s Ultimate Fight Night. Big John will be missed by fight fans and fighters alike.
- Stevenson vs Penn fight for the Lightweight title in January. The UFC quietly stripped Sean Sherk of his title and has now placed it up for grabs between BJ and Joe Daddy. The stupid thing about it is that Sherk is guaranteed to be fighting the winner and will be ready to fight in January. So why not just let him keep his belt, or make the match a non title affair with the winner facing Sherk for the belt? |
