MMAWeekly reported today that “The Dean of Mean” Keith Jardine has accepted a fight against former UFC Light-heavyweight king Chuck “The Iceman” Liddell .
It was originally intended to be a main event contest between Liddell and Wanderlei Silva but the fight was not officially signed and is apparently dead. Now the main event is between two fighters coming off devastating losses.

Liddell is fresh off his loss to Quinton “Rampage” Jackson and will be looking to add another highlight reel knockout vs Jardine. This will be Jardine’s first fight since he was knocked out by relative unknown Houston Alexander on the same night Liddell lost his title at UFC 71.
This is not a bout that will get anyone really fired up to watch as Jardine is considered to still be a big step behind Liddell in the skills department. Jardine isn’t someone that Liddell will have to worry about going to the ground with, and will more than likely end up with another UFC Unleashed introductory knockout. |
